It's not easy to make the cut here at Thermal Services, but those who do ultimately undergo years of rigorous in-house training at our very own ThermalU. Our courses, combined with intense hands-on field experience, make our service technicians the best in the industry.
All maintenance technicians in the residential service department go through approximately 192 hours of classroom training and 448 hours of on-the-job training with a senior technician during a 16-week period. This initial training begins after serving as an installation apprentice for 1 year.
Our commercial technicians are expected to have at least 5 years of successful residential experience before beginning the 2-3 year apprenticeship period to become a lead journeyman commercial technician.
Many of our residential and commercial HVAC technicians specialize in specific equipment, and each has years of extensive training combined with thousands of hours of field experience. New recruits are assigned to apprenticeships with more experienced technicians for even more one-on-one training.
Continuing education programs keep all of our technicians on the leading edge of technology and industry developments.
Thermal Services offers a variety of training courses and tutition reimbursement for employees continuing their education in plumbing.
