Heating Maintenance

Keeping your heating system in peak operating condition is equally as important as your cooling system. Proper preventative maintenance will ensure comfort you can rely on in the cooler months. Like any piece of equipment, catching potential problems before they become serious emergency issues makes good sense and can save you money on expensive repairs.

The service call from our trained technician takes about an hour to an hour and a half and includes an extensive 60-point maintenance checklist.

Pre-service checks include:

• Thermostat inspection for proper setup and operation

Humidifier checks include:

• Opening bypass damper for winter
• Operation inspection and water flow examination
• Drain line flush and cleaning
• Pad inspection and/or replacement (Note: Pad replacement is recommended every year)

Blower checks include:

• Proper balance inspection
• Examination of motor bearings for wear
• Lubrication of motor bearings if needed
• Filter check and change

Operational checks for GAS furnaces include:

• Burner ignition inspection and evaluation
• Gas pressure inspection
• Examination for gas leakage
• Removal and cleaning of burners
• Pilot assembly cleaning (if applicable)
• Wiring connection inspection

Operational checks for ELECTRIC furnace include:

• Inspection of electrical terminal connections
• Inspection of fuse or breaker connections inside furnace
• Inspection of heating elements
• Control compartment cleaning
• Operational examination of heat sequence

Post service checks include:

• Cycling of system to verify proper operation
• Final systems check and overview

Heat Pump checks include:

• Defrost cycle examination
• Inspection of reversing valve
• Examination of wiring, contactor and refrigerant pressures
